The Wedding industry in the Middle East is currently undergoing phenomenal growth. The growth, to a large extent, can be attributed to the transformation that weddings in the region have been experiencing in the recent past.
The wedding industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the country, be it the thriving economy, booming tourism and leisure sector or a population that spends the highest per head for their weddings, the Wedding industry here has all the ingredients to scale new heights.
In the case of UAE nationals, the wedding is an occasion when members of the society get together, with guests alone numbering more than 1,000 for most weddings. Weddings las for three days to one week, depending on the financial ability. Eligible Emiratis are offered a marriage grant of up to Dhs70,000 but in most cases expenses often double or triple. A recent report indicated that UAE nationals have spent nearly $20bn for their weddings in 2010.
It is precisely because of this reason that the Perfect Wedding Show, which will be in its seventh edition in 2012, attracts such large numbers of to-be married couples and their families from across the Middle East.
